The Scamster

RULES & REGULATIONS

The Scamster is a three-day interactive management simulation conducted within a fictional banking environment.

• Participants are divided into bank employees and external investors, with two employees secretly assigned as Scamsters.
• Bank employees are responsible for managing different departments, making strategic business decisions and handling emerging challenges.
• Investors receive fictional capital and decide when and how much to invest based on the bank’s performance and credibility.
• The Scamsters attempt to cause financial and operational damage while remaining unidentified.
• Over the three days, participants encounter investment decisions, business challenges, suspicious transactions, investigations and a final banking crisis.
• The simulation integrates finance, investment, marketing, operations, HR, risk management, law, technology, AI and leadership.
• Participants are evaluated on strategic thinking, financial judgement, communication, teamwork, risk assessment, crisis management and their ability to identify hidden threats.
• The event provides practical exposure to cross-functional management and competitive decision-making.
• Teams must consist of a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 participants.
• Participants must follow all instructions provided by the organising committee throughout the three-day simulation.
• Any form of cheating, unauthorised assistance, misconduct or unfair practice may result in disqualification.
• The organising committee reserves the right to make final decisions on disputes, scoring and rule interpretation.
